Ted petitions to change corny blog name

In a vulgarity laden tirade - um - I mean - rant - Ted has petitioned the blogmaster to change the name of the blog bearing his name. Considering the pedestrian, albeit informative name of the main blog, he is requesting that he be granted permission to change the currently insufferably corny name of his blog to either:

Prophetic Ripple Ministries

Spirit-filled Charasmatic Anecdotes

Funkbier

Twerpbone and his one-sided viewpoints

Bumblemunch

We're taking a vote. Entirely new names welcome.

November 14, 2007 - New Beer on Tap

There's a new beer on at Brugge Brasserie.

It's called Imperial Amber.

Here's a description from Ted:

Impérial is a Belgian inspired Imperial Amber. Rich with hints of toffee and dark fruit, this beauty drinks every bit of 8%. This would pair very nicely with the Carbonnade Flamande.

Sounds perfect for some of the colder nights ahead.

Enjoy!

Explanation of Weblog Name

Our good friends at Hoosier Beer Geek were kind enough to mention our new Weblog, going so far as to commend us for being so "creative" in coming up with a name.

Check their site for an in-depth analysis of all the sweat and blood that went into its development.

Great American Beer Festival

We all enjoyed the GABF in Denver last month.

Brugge entered 5 beers into the competition.

3 of them made the Medal Round.

Here are 2 comments on the Diamond Kings of Seven:

Judge 1: Too much oak

Judge 2: Not tasting oak

Here are 3 comments on Diamond Kings of Heaven ( The '06 Diamond Kings )

Judge 1: Very high bitterness

Judge 2: Bitterness on low side

Judge 3: Bitterness to style

Here are 3 comments of the Lupulin L'Amore - a hoppy Belgian Specialty Ale created by our good friend Jim Matt, entered in the ProAm competition.

Judge 1: Bitterness low

Judge 2: Bitterness good

Judge 3: Bitterness high

Hmmmmmmm........

Look forward to reading Ted's comments on this.

FWIW, my favorite beer at GABF was Deschutes' Obsidian Stout. Sadly, not available in Indiana right now.

Beer on Tap - November 13, 2007

Black

White

Thunder Monkey

The Black and White are our first productions from Terre Haute.

The Thunder Monkey makes its reappearance after a long absence. A spicy Belgian ale with hints of clove and nutmeg, make it the perfect "first" beer on arrival at Brugge.

Ted tells me he has something very mysterious brewing in the Broad Ripple brewery. Stay tuned.

Brugge Beer is Here

Our new brewery in Terre Haute is up and running and we want you to be part of the fun.

This weblog will chronicle all the developments as we introduce 5 great Belgian Beers:

Black

White

Tripel

Sacre Fleur Saison

Dubbel

You'll be hearing from Ted Miller, our master brewer, Brugge visionary, and generally all around nice guy.

You'll be hearing from Micah Weichert, our head brewer in Terre Haute, as he single-handedly revitalizes the famous DownTown Terre Haute Brewing District.

You'll be hearing from Shannon Stone, who runs Brugge Brasserie in Indianapolis, on the latest news from the restaurant side of Brugge.

You'll be hearing from me, Charlie Midgley, with odds and ends about what's happening with our launch, growth, activities, etc., etc.. Yeah, that means I really don't have all that much to say!

You'll be hearing all this, warts and all, as we want to share everything - the good, the not so good, the unusual - everything that happens as we give birth to a new company

But, mostly, you'll be hearing from......... you.

That's right. You have been the reason behind the great success of Brugge Brasserie, and you have been waiting patiently for the brewery to start making beer. And, as part of our family, your comments and observations are an integral part of the growth of that family.

So let's hear what you have to say. We want to hear what you like, what you don't like, and what you'd like to see.

Look forward to hearing from you!
